FIDDLING GRANNY'S
This picture was taken in October of 2015, while the Fiddling Granny's were practicing at our house. The group leader was Lois Eagleton, who started the Friends of Mildred Kanipe Memorial Park. Except for Lois, all others have passed away.
I recognize several of the players who were quite involved with our local District 10 of the Oregon Oldtime Fiddlers' Assn. We miss them all and hope that Lois is doing well up in Eugene. She has a Facebook page, but I haven't seen anything posted there for about a year and a half. Our local group gets together for jams, on the 4th Saturday each month from 12-3 pm at the Sutherlin Senior Center, as well as weekly in various member's driveways, garages or community centers.
Thanks for sharing Mike, we have been missing you, and your posts. I enjoyed reading Lois Eagleton's book, For Love of the Land: The Legacy of Mildred Kanipe. https://www.amazon.com/Love-Land-Legacy-Mildred-Kanipe/dp/0595506887 "Build it and they will come," comes to mind.
